Classes
Classes are divided into three activities:
whole class activities for curriculum experiences; group
roles for student accountability; and individual student
directed teacher guided activities. |
|
Each
class has specific outcomes designed for the specific
project. For example, after taking a social studies/geography
class for grade four, when students complete the curriculum
they will be able to:
· Locate on a map or globe related physical features
such as continents, oceans, mountains and land;
· Natural resources, cities, states, and borders;
· Use an atlas, chart, graph and map to gather
information;
· Identify and distinguish environmental changes
as well as the social and economic effects of the changes;
· Identify changes in the community that have
been caused by human beings, such as a construction
project, fire, etc.
In addition to integrated classes, MTASA project classes
can be taught as stand-alone components.

Workshops
Workshops are part of every course.
Outside professionals offer hands on experience to students.
Professional entomologists, artists, journalists and others
share their knowledge and
real live experiences with the students, helping them
to envision |
|
the connection between educational concepts and their
corresponding real life applications.
|
Exhibitions
The formal exhibition of the scrapbooks
allows each student to be a real participant in their
community - to inform, interpret, and enlighten others
about places and events in a unique way. Students showcase
|
|
their
work to students and teachers, discussing their analytical
reasoning and thought processes behind each choice -
at the same time developing their vocabulary and speaking
skills.
|
Field Trips
Field trips are a very exciting
part of our program and are integral to every course that
we offer. They provide an important contribution to the
learning process by providing stimulation and motivation |
|
Students discover untapped skills which enhance problem solving
techniques. Prior to every field trip, preparatory classes
are held using a variety of learning activities to prepare
students for the upcoming trip.

ISEP Advantage
